the scissors are the soul of the dressmaker

sutra, 21. oktobra u bankoku, u siam centru (koji umesto da se prozaično zove tržnim centrom zove se poetično: ideapolis)  otvara se izložba posvećena yohji yamamotu. izložba će trajati do 11. novembra i vi srećnici koji putujete na topli tajland nemojte da je zaobiđete. izložbu najavljuje i sa siam centrom organizuje tajlandsko izdanje the wallpapera. aktuelni, oktobarski broj ceo su posvetili toj izložbi. fotografije potpisuje shiraz randeria, kreativni direktor  kingdom of heaven.  modeli su bili: mona matsuoka and shohei yamashita.

modeli nose kolekciju fall 2014 koju je yamamoto uradio u saradnji sa japanskim umetnikom yasuto sasada.

“yohji yamamoto kindly lent me some of his scissors from his studio. my idea for the fashion shoot of his  aw 14 collection was to photograph the clothes with some of the tools that were used to create them.

i realised that in most of our hands scissors, blades and knives are only used destructively, but in the hands of the master dressmaker they are used to create. he said “the scissors are the soul of the dressmaker”.
